July 25th Saratoga recap

The track was fast and the stakes feature was contested on the turf at Saratoga on Friday. Early/pressing types (2 wire jobs) had a good day on the main, and stalker My Princess Jess nabbed the grass feature. Hat trick for Eibar Coa.

Race 6: A real slugfest between Real Estate, Aquino, and Visible Truth. They were 1-2-3 all the way around and hooked up in an exciting stretch duel, with Rel Estate a head better than Aquino, with Visible Truth another nose back in 3rd. It was Bruce Levine over Kiaran McLaughlin over Steve Asmussen. Kudos to Eibar Coa for aggressive tactics from the inside post (:21.98, :44.76, :56.73, 1:09.38).

Race 8: Eibar Coa and Barclay Tagg struck in the Grade 2 Lake George with My Princess Jess. She overcame some early traffic and made a nice move between horses in midstretch to wear down my value top Alwajeeha. French invader Mousse AuChocolat had a nightmare journey following a poor start and heel clipping adventure. She ended up last as the fav.

July 26th Saratoga preview

I am offering full card analysis on the Saturday card from the Spa. It’s a good looking 11-race card with four graded races. The key to the Grade 1 Diana is the condition of the turf course, and some key scratches could change the complexion of the race. A trio of classy speedsters will hook up in the Vanderbilt (G2). Will the likes of Bustin Stones shake loose, or will a protracted duel set the table for an off the pace type? Ginger Punch looks formidable in the Go For Wand (G1), and Commentator will try to stretch his speed to 9f in the Whitney (G1).

Race 11 is my racingonthenet free selection of the day.
