Lost in the Fog Stakes closing day feature at Golden Gate

by Jarrod Horak on June 22nd, 2008

Golden Gate Fields concludes their spring/summer 2008 meet on June 22nd, and the 10-race card is highlighted by the $75k Lost in the Fog Stakes for two-year-olds.

A K Racer is the morning line favorite exiting a romping above par local maiden tally, getting four furlongs in a swift :45-1/5. The fav did not disappoint on May 25th and was never asked for his best. The Jeff Bonde trainee looms a serious prominent throughout presence under Bobby Gonzalez. Uncoupled stablemate Matt’s Marauder was nowhere in a SoCal stake after a Tapeta wire job to kick off his career.

Lightning Diablo was a razor sharp debut winner in a Hollywood maiden claimer, and the show finisher returned to score. Doug O’Neill will give Russell Baze a leg up, and a stalking trip is expected today. He might be this good.

Maidens Justice has run fast in both of his runner-up efforts. He ran into the impressive Cross Fire here last out, and maybe the maiden hits the board at 12-1 on the line.

Seismometer exits a decent straight maiden tally in SoCal, and Talamo strings along. An outside pace player at the very least.

Turbo Call gets the services of Frank Alvarado, and the two furlong winner figures to flash speed at the very least. His uncoupled stablemate Conclusive is on the upswing but has yet to win after three starts…underlay?

Peace of Me rounds out the field, and he flattered Maidens Justice when he came back to win a local maiden claimer 2nd time out.

The Plays: I’ll take a shot with Lightning Diablo on the win end at 6-1, along with an exacta box with A K Racer.
