Good looking Memorial Day breeze for Denis of Cork
Belmont Stakes hopeful Denis of Cork, last seen finishing 3rd in the Kentucky Derby, breezed five furlongs in :59.80 at Churchill Downs on Monday.
The promising son of Harlan’s Holiday galloped out six furlongs in 1:13 and is coming to the Belmont Stakes with some momentum.
Robby Albarado, who booted home Denis in the Grade 3 Southwest in February, was aboard for the work, and he will pilot him in the Belmont Stakes as well.
With Big Brown battling a quarter crack and Tale of Ekati coming off a slow six furlong Belmont work in 1:18.97, Denis of Cork looms an interesting contender on June 7th.
