Belmont Stakes Preview: Tale of Ekati drills sharp four furlongs
Tale of Ekati, last seen finishing a better than expected 4th in the Kentucky Derby, worked a sharp four furlongs in :46.84 on May 20th in preparation for the June 7th Belmont Stakes.
The Barclay Tagg trainee was on his toes in his aforementioned Belmont Park drill, and he probably needed a strong work considering he has not done much since the May 3rd Derby.
Tale of Ekati is a perfect 2-2 at Belmont Park, including a visually impressive score in last year’s Futurity.
After his promising two-year-old campaign, the son of Tale of the Cat returned to finish 6th in the Louisiana Derby after a troubled beginning. Following that needed effort, he was a determined winner of the Wood Memorial Stakes at Aqueduct.
