Belmont Stakes Preview (June 3rd): Big Brown’s final move
Big Brown had his much anticipated final Belmont Stakes work on June 3rd, a five-furlong move in 1:00.03 (1:14-2/5 gallop out). He desperately needed the exercise because this was his one and only move since the Preakness Stakes.
The quarter crack on his left front foot, discovered on May 23rd, continues to get better, and a protective patch is expected to be applied by hoof specialist Ian McKinlay on Friday.
Casino Drive may work on Wednesday morning, but time is never an issue with his fine Japanese connections, so do not expect anything crazy.
Post positions for the 2008 Belmont Stakes will be drawn tomorrow morning (Wednesday, June 4th).
